Consultation in the field of security policy between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Finland were held on 24th of October in Helsinki. Consultations in this field are an integral part of the ongoing bilateral dialogue between ministries of the two countries.

Our delegation was led by the Assistant Minister for Security Policy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Branimir Filipović, while the head of the Finnish delegation was the Director General of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen. During the consultations, both sides expressed readiness to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of security policy and exchanged views on a number of topics of common interest, with particular emphasis on the political and security situation in the Western Balkans, the engagement between the two countries within the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy, participation in NATO Partnership for peace program, as well as the current challenges of European security.
